I’m enthusiastic, passionate, and have even been lovingly called a “rebellious brat.” Back in school exams, I was the one cramming random facts ten minutes before and forgetting them again one minute after.
I love stories. Big history, little stories, and everything hidden behind people, cultures, and languages. Young Indiana Jones, my buddy Indy, once taught me: “Languages help us understand cultures” – and I’ve held on to that ever since. And honestly: language has no business being stuffed into Excel spreadsheets. Anyone who does that doesn’t really love language. 😉
Some people say I must have filing cabinets at home full of information about people. Not true – I keep it all in my head. I remember languages and details effortlessly, but numbers just fly right past me.
Movies and series? My fuel. Debates? Bring them on – I can go at it tooth and nail, and then laugh together right afterwards. The only exception: intolerance and prejudice. That makes me lose my temper faster than you’d expect. My motto? Straight out of Cologne: Levve un levve losse – live and let live.
I love diversity, questions, collecting knowledge – and yet there are moments when I just want to pull the blanket over my head and shut the world out.

Professional Facts
Born in 1979, but still as young at heart as a high school kid (just with Wi-Fi). The internet? Love at first dial-up tone. After graduation I briefly felt like a specialist idiot, so first a stint at a video rental store (yes, total series junkie!), then training as a bookseller, followed by a degree in History and Polish Studies (Bachelor of Arts, thank you very much). Dream job as an editor and head of marketing at a travel publisher? Check ✅. Tried self-employment, and for the past 13 years I’ve been with the same company – first a total disaster as a telephone salesperson, but unbeatable face to face. Today I’m the local marketing jack-of-all-trades, basically the proverbial Swiss Army knife. Boring? Definitely not.
